We are often contacted by salespersons and brokers in other states, asking how to get their license in Illinois. If someone is licensed in another state with which Illinois does not have reciprosity, then unfortunately, they have to complete the entire licensing process as any new applicant would. However, Illinois does have reciprosity with the following states: Connecticut, Florida, Georgia, Indiana (Broker only), Iowa, Nebraska, and Wisconsin. This means that if the applicant is licensed in one of these states already, they are exempt from the state’s educational requirements, and just need to pass the state portion of the exam to get their corresponding Illinois license. Feel free to contact us with any other questions about reciprosity, or how to obtain your license.
